Specifies the particular print order, or grouping, of your mailpieces.

AutoMail® can group auto-presort items (discounted w/ validated address), non-auto presort (Single Piece mailpieces w/ invalidated address), or Excludes (mailpieces intentionally excluded from the manifest). The mailer can decide the print order of which "grouping" prints where. Click Details, below, for an explanation of all elements on the Print Order screen.

QuickTip

NOTE: Manifest mailing always requires that mailpieces are in sequential order. AutoMail® prints a sequence number within the Keyline of each individual mailpiece.

PrimaryPrintOrder

Primary Print Order is always used for print jobs which will be mailed as a manifest. Mailpiece groups are explained below, and can be arranged as preferred by the mailer. This allows for ease of handling by mail preparation personnel.

Machine Folder Auto/Nonauto Presorted: presorted mailpieces, with validated addressing, which contain a number of pages within the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Machine Folder Singles: presorted mailpieces, with non-validated addressing, which contain a number of pages within the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Machine Folder Excludes: mailpieces excluded from the manifest (must be handled outside of the manifest), which contain a number of pages within the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Manual Fold Auto/Nonauto Presorted: presorted mailpieces, with validated addressing, which contain a number of pages greater than the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Manual Fold Singles: presorted mailpieces, with non-validated addressing, which contain a number of pages greater than the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Manual Fold Excludes: mailpieces excluded from the manifest (must be handled outside of the manifest), which contain a number of pages greater than the maximum number of pages which a folding / inserting machine (if applicable) will successfully fold without halting or diverting.

Last Page Totals: only applicable when last page totals sheet / page is generated.

PrintOrder_CombineSinglesExcludes

Unless a more customized Print Order is desired, AutoMail® makes these two options available to simply combine all Single-piece mailpieces and / or Excludes into a same grouping; whether manual fold or machinable.

PrintOrder_MaxPages

All folding / inserting equipment is limited in the number of pieces of paper which can be folded / stuffed of a single document. Different models and styles handle more or less documents / mailpieces. If AutoMail® can pre-determine what this maximum number is the value can be entered here. This provides a convenience when running the documents of a mailing through folding / inserting equipment. For example... all "manual fold" mailpieces can be sorted to a single grouping (e.g. the beginning or end of a print job). Otherwise, the folder / inserter will halt at each mailpiece which is a greater number of pages than the machine will fold / stuff. Some machines actually have diverting sections to deal with this. Speak with your folding / inserting equipment provider to determine what best meets your needs for your make / model of folding / inserting equipment.

PrintOrder_SecondaryPrintOrder

Print In This Order: As a sub-set of the "primary" print order a secondary print order can be determined. Options are SeqNo or mailpiece ID Unless a specific circumstance demands SeqNo is always used.

Print Documents In Reverse Order: Depending on how the mailing print job will be physically loaded into / fed into folding / inserting equipment, this function is left either un-checked to print in ascending order (1...2...3...4) or checked to print in descending order (4...3...2...1). For example, if "checked" the mailing will print with sequence number 1 being the top-most printed document at the end of the print job. Therefore, it would be concluded that the print job stack would need to be loaded into the folding / inserting machine in a manner which will pull the document with sequence number 1 firstly. If this option is left "un-checked" the mailing will print sequence number 1 as the very first document that prints. All remaining (ascending) sequence numbers will follow.

PrintOrder_NonStandardSort

It is important to understand that using a non-standard sort could potentially invalidate a manifest mailing. With that said, there are rare circumstances where a mailer desires a non-standard sort. For example, a data file which originated in account number order, was then "presorted" by AutoMail® into ZIP order, can be reverted back to printing in account number order. Again, this would not be advisable for an intended manifest mailing, as all assigned mailpiece sequence numbers would be out of order.
