Functionality of Premier ACP website:

The website currently offers ZIP+4™ coding and Geocoding with ZIP+4™ coding.  ZIP+4™ coding is included in both MoveUpdate and GeoCoding services.

A financial institution generates disk files through iti software and uploads the file for coding and verification to the website, and in as few as 24 hours, receives notification that it's coded and verified mailing list is available from the website as a single .zip file containing the coded output file, the CASS™ and DPV™ reports, and an exceptions report.  In the returned file, properly formatted addresses are added in a seperate field, which can be used to update customer address information.  The financial institution then downloads this infomation to their Premier database.

Service Descriptions:

ZIP+4™ Coding: This option provides both ZIP+4™ CASS™ coding and DPV™ CASS coding standardizes the format of each address and matches it to a range of addresses.  In addition to adding ZIP+4™ codes, CASS™ corrects misspelled streets, cities and state abbreviations, and establishes consistent pre-directionals (geographic directions preceding street names) and suffixes (abbreviations such as AVE, BLVD, PKWY).  DPV™ goes beyond standard CASS™ coding and identifies physical addresses as legitimate.  For addresses that do not match at any level, SynTel™ returns result codes and a list of exceptions that need to be corrected by financial institution employees.

Move Update: To reduce undeliverable-as-addressed mail, the USPS® has introduced the new Move Update requirement.  Move Update requires that mailers update all addresses for mail receiving certain postal discounts, including standard mail, no more than 95 day prior to mailing.  When you choose the ZIP+4™ Coding and Move Update option, SynTel compares your mailing list with the USPS®'s National Change of Address (NCOAlink®) database using the NCOAlink® service, which is one of the accepted methods for meeting the Move Update requirement.  In addition to satisfying one of the USPS®'s prerequisites for discounted postal rates, you save postage costs by suppressing undeliverable mail.  And because the comparison with NCOA® can uncover fraudulent changes of address, you also take a significant step toward preventing identity theft.

Geocoding: Is performed in conjunction with ZIP+4™ coding.  by providing useful demographic information, this service informs marketing strategies and supplies data needed for Community Reinvestment Act reporting.  Each account is assigned a Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA) code.  CBSAs are defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and are used by governmental agencies to collect, tabulate and publish statistics.  Developing and refining marketing campaigns based on geocoding information increases the likelihood of their success.
